Find the success in math you've been looking for!
The Merit Program is a challenging program for serious students who are determined to be successful in their math courses and need a bit of extra help to do so. PSC's Merit Program is a supplemental instruction intervention that is modelled after the program created in the 1970's by Uri Treisman at UC Berkeley. A number of other colleges and universities around the country have implemented similar programs.
Prairie State College's Merit Program began with the Fall 2006 semester. Working in small groups with motivated classmates, students build a community of learners and gain a deeper understanding of math concepts. The Merit Program is neither a remediation nor a tutoring program; it is a supplemental instruction program designed to help ensure student success in mathematics.
