Math 216 - Differential Equations - 3 Credit Hours - 3 Lecture Hours
Course Description
This is a first course in ordinary differential equations with applications to the physical sciences. Topics covered include recognition, classification, and solution of differential equations, as well as the expression of applied problems in terms of differential equations. This course is designed to prepare students for more advanced study in mathematics, science, and engineering.Prerequisite
Math 172, Calculus with Analytic Geometry II, with a C or betterPrimary Textbook
Differential Equations-Theory, Technique, and Practice; Simmons & Krantz (2007); ISBN 978-0-072-86315-4Additional Comments
A TI-83 Graphing Calculator is required for this course.Math 216 is usually offered at PSC only one time per year, often in the fall semester. In semesters when the class is not offered, students may take the differential equations class at South Suburban College at the in-district tuition rate.
