Math 173 - Calculus with Analytic Geometry III - 5 Credit Hours - 5 Lecture Hours

Course Description
This is the final course in the three-semester sequence of courses covering calculus for scientists and engineers. Topics covered include basic operations on vectors, vector-valued functions, functions of several variables, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, and vector calculus.

Prerequisite
Math 172, Calculus with Analytic Geometry II, with a C or better

The course covers chapters 11-14 and sections 15.1-15.4. Some sections from chapter 9 may be covered as review.

Additional Comments
A TI-83/84 Graphing Calculator is required for this course.

Math 173 is usually offered at PSC only one time per year, often in the spring semester. In semesters when the class is not offered, students may take Calculus III at South Suburban College at the in-district tuition rate.
