Math 090 - Elementary Algebra - 4 Credit Hours - 5 Lecture Hours
Course Description
This is a course in elementary algebra. Topics covered include linear equations and inequalities, graphs of linear equations, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, and rational equations. Problem solving is emphasized throughout the course.Prerequisite

Elementary and Intermediate Algebra for College Students, 3rd edition; Angel; ISBN 978-0-132-33722-9The course covers chapters 1-7 (with the exceptions of 4.3, 4.4, & 7.8) and section 10.1, with most (or all) of chapter 1 treated as review.

Additional Comments
All Math 090 students are given the same comprehensive departmental final exam. The exam consists of approximately 5 free-response problems and 35 multiple-choice problems. All exam problems are based directly on the course objectives. The individual classroom instructor is responsible for all other tests, quizzes, and assignments.All Monday-Thursday daytime sections of Math 090 take their finals at the same time. Evening, Friday, and weekend sections follow the regular final exam schedule. Check the official final exam schedule!
Each student is required to have a scientific calculator. Subsequent math courses may require the TI-83/84 Graphing Calculator.
